A great unit although starting to show it's age with the number of topo map base models now available. I'd still rate it above the eTrex and most of the other brands for recreational use

Very durable; menu is very easy to use and has an excellent range of features; had no problems with the screen visibility; reasonable coverage under tree canopies although an external antennae improves its immensely; good battery life; light weight...

Screen could be larger... the colour version would have been a good option but not essential

I received the Garmin GPSMAP 76 Versatile navigator for Christmas, what a surprise, since I am technological dummy.

Waterproof, can hold 8 mg memory. 500 waypoints and 50 routes

Not for the Technically disadvantaged, that would be me

This is it! THE best Garmin model!!

 

I love this little GPS unit! I use it while kayaking, hiking, geocaching, fishing, hunting, riding my ATV and driving.

Accurate, large screen size, floats, waterproof, will fit in pocket, 24 megabites of

a bit bulky but it is a trade off for the large screen
