Outstanding image quality, photos look stunning

Poor button layout, no DVI connector, no audio

This is a brilliant display for everyday use. Although it features only an analog (VGA) input, it produces clear, sharp images.

Lack of physical adjustments

The Sony SDM-HS95P displays graphics beautifully on a glossy screen, and the easel-like stand looks striking. Height (and swivel) adjustment is all that's lacking.

The Sony SDM-S95D may not be the most flexible 19-inch LCD out there, but if good image quality and sleek lines are key, this monitor belongs on your short list.

Incorporates analog A/V inputs and an integrated NTSC TV tuner. Thoughtfully designed remote control. Good contrast ratio.

Poor image uniformity. Screen technology best suited for light-controlled environments.

Like a growing number of desktop as well as notebook LCDs, the HS95P has a contrast- and clarity-boosting design that shows as glossy black instead of gray when switched off (what Sony calls XBrite). The drawback is catching an occasional glimpse of...
