The JVC GR-D295 offers a lot of zoom for the money and is worth consideration if you shoot mainly in brightly lit situations.

Sturdy build quality, good manual control, 25x optical zoom, choice of widescreen modes, good zoom control, respectable images in low light conditions

Bottom-loading tape mechanism, 500x digital zoom is useless.

A well-featured camcorder for beginners and upgraders that offers great all-round performance at a competitive price. Recommended.

"Used it once and now the LCD screen isn't working"

 

Don't waste your money. Even though it was supposed to be cheap, $300 seems like a waste on a peice of junk

Worked well the first time I used it

6 months after buying it I pulled it out to capture my son's first steps and the LCD screen doesn't work!! By the time I figurd out that it did still record, but the screen just didn't work the moment was over. I'll never get that back

If you wish to but a handy cam go for JVC GR-D290 or JVC GR-D270 but if you have a budget go for JVC everio an HANDY cAM used an HARD DICS

The good is easy to use, very affordable, high quality,25X zoom, lightweight, and the design is fasionable

Still images not really good,, but it still a handycam not a DigiCam
